So I was hanging out at the shop the other day and decided to get some photos taken. My man "I AM KRANZ" was around and I convinced him to take a few photos of me for my Website. A website that he is making for me. He does amazing work and is always cutting edge and on some next level business. Here's a preview of some of the pics that were taken. Keep in mind, they were taken with my Canon G9 Camera with natural lighting. Very basic pictures that will eventually be worked on to make it useful for my website content.

MY WATCHES. VOLUME 2 - ROLEX STAINLESS STEEL SUBMARINER WITH DATE

So I've been seeing some new pictures surfacing on the net of the 2010 Rolex Stainless Steel Submariner with the Ceramic bezel. I love the fact that it now comes with the Ceramic bezel a-la GMT-2, but I know it will reflect in the pricing. I'm not really feeling the all green Bezel and Dial on the new Submariner. I think it's too much green for my liking. Somehow I feel there is a need to have Black on a Submariner. Just something I have always recognized when I spotted another person rocking a Sub. So this brings me to Volume 2 of "MY WATCHES".

I bought this watch last year in February 2009. I went to see Bobby at Everest Jewelers in Montreal. They have a great reputation for customer service and selection. It was a choice between the SS Sub-date or the DEEP SEA Sea Dweller.

I decided on the SS Sub-Date for it's classic looks and incomparable reliability. It's a classic watch that still looks amazing today in a world infatuated with monstrous timepieces that will eventually give you tendinitis in your elbow. The Rolex Submariner has the same great design as the original from 1953. It's become Iconic over the years and is still probably the best investment when it comes to watches.

You can buy a SS Submariner and wear it for 5-10 years and still sell it for the same price or even more (depending on condition.) Not many watches can be resold for more or it's original retail price.

I don't ever see myself selling it. It's gonna stay with me and be passed on to my kids 1 day. I have been offered to sell or trade on a few occasions. A friend of mine asked me to trade it for their 50th anniversary green bezeled beauty.

Since mine is a 2009 model, it has the "ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX" engraved on the inner ring of the Bezel aka the "Flange" or "Rehaut" (in French.)

You gotta love the details like the Rolex sign on the Crown and the deployment buckle. Classic.

I absolutely love this watch and I'm extremely happy that I bought this for myself after working hard on some new projects and doing some extra gigs here and there. It's a reminder of my hard work every time I look at the watch. It's the Quintessential watch that would feel at home on any one's wrist.

KAZUKI STRIKES AGAIN.

Mr. Kuraishi Kazuki brings some more goodness for us older sneaker heads. Adidas Originals ObyO collection by Kazuki is by far my favorite lines. The collection keeps getting stronger and keeps me wanting more. Kazuki takes older classic Midsoles/Outsoles from Iconic Adidas models and creates a fresh new silhouette or adds technical materials that maintain the sneakers functionality. The latest model is another sneaker that slowly becoming a favorite of mine. The Gigfel is a high top basketball sneaker that Kazuki has managed to transform into a daily wearer by adding fresh materials and muted colorways. The New Cardinal colorway is amazing, keeping it with earth tones and leather. Perfect for the Fall weather that's sure to get colder in the next few weeks. I'll definitely be buying these along with the new Darwen sneaker by Kazuki.

VINTAGE ROLEX EXPLORER - MILITARY.

Really nice looking Vintage Rolex Explorer. Rarely seen black version that's available by appointment only or at Louis Boston. Apparently the watch retails for $20 000, which is a little bit too much IMO. I'd rather get a SS white dial Daytona and throw in a SS Subdate at the same time.

DARWEN: KAZUKI ADIDAS OBYO.

I'm loving this new pair of sneakers by Kazuki Kuraishi. His ObyO collection with Adidas is simply amazing. He pairs technical materials/ideas with functionality and ends up with superb, top quality products that would fit in every man's wardrobe. I'm a HUGE fan of the Kazuki ObyO collection. These Darwens look amazing and would love to get a pair when they drop. The Subtle details and muted colorway are a sure fire hit, especially with aging sneakerheads like myself. I know these are going to be really comfortable since they share the same Midsole/Outsole of the ZX700 boats released 3 years ago. I'm heading over to the Adidas Originals Montreal store and reserving my pair right away.

Not sure how I feel about this watch? Not a fan of the green, especially on the Dial and the Bezel. It's a bit much. After seeing this watch, I actually appreciate the 50th Anniversary edition more. With it's Green Bezel, black dial and enlarged Hour markers. You know the price of the 2010 Green Submariner will be much higher since it now has the Ceramic bezel. I guess Rolex needed to add something to the Submariner to get a buzz going. This will definitely be a collectors piece since it's the 1st edition of the ceramic bezel Subs. Expect this watch to be back ordered or hard to get. If you do get it, it'll probably be priced a bit higher than retail. I'll pass on this watch since I'm extremely happy with my SS Rolex Sub-date.

"Earlier this year, at Baselworld 2010, Rolex unveiled new steelSubmariners with the ceramic bezel upgrade, as seen on the gold Submariners last year, and the GMT bezels the year before. Click here for a video of about the ceramic bezel production process. In comparison to aluminum, ceramic is much harder, as well as being extremely resistant to scratching.

The all steel Submariners come with either a green or black ceramic bezel. The green is $7,800 and the black is $7,400. Regardless of which color you choose, the 2010 ceramic bezel steel Submariners will be very collectable, as this is the first year of production. The demand for this particular Rolex is already high, and I've heard they are very hard to get. You may even have to a pay a premium over retail to get one. HODINKEE CUSTOMIZED ROLEX SUBMARINER.

Although this looks real kool and different, I don't think I would pay $2000-$4000 over the actual retail price of a Rolex Submariner SS with a Nylon Nato Band. I'd settle for the Original Bad Boy and leave these for the guys who want the same thing, but slightly different. Plus these look kinda bootleg a-la Canal Street in NYC. No watch afficianado would respect this on your wrist anyways. They would probably think it's cute like a G-shock. I would just save up a bit more and track down a SS Daytona with a white face. Which will eventually be my next Rolex purchase.

SOPHNET X BARBOUR JACKET

I already own a Barbour waxed jacket and swear by them. I've had mine for over 5 years now and still rock it every fall and spring seasons. These will last you years and years, without ever going out of style. I really like the Camo lining and the Sophnet tag, but I'm sure it's gonna be over $400 for this jacket retail. Can't wait to see what this will go for in the after market.

This cap came out earlier this year and I slept on it. I really want this hat even though I'm not a fan of Kangols. I'm a huge UNDFTD fan and have been down with the sneakers and gear since day 1. What I like about this hat is that it uses the same twill used on baseball caps. I Love that idea. I'm in search of this and won't rest til I get it on my dome.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I've been extremely busy with things of late. Been up to loads of stuff and I will begin to recap with this post.

On Sunday September 5th, 2010 I ran the Montreal Marathon 21km half with my Sister Cherry and her friend from Miami, Freeler. It was amazing and fulfilling. A huge challenge that I would do it again and again. So I decided to do the Miami 1/2 Marathon in January. Here's a few photos of the Montreal Marathon, before and after.

I'm a HUGE watch aficionado. It's been a couple of years that I've really been into timepieces. A few years back, I realized that I didn't own a a good watch. I didn't wear any jewelry, no rings or chains. So I thought to myself, why don't I buy myself a really good watch since I don't wear any accessories of any kind. I remember years ago, I read an article in GQ magazine that stated "every man should own a really nice watch that is classic and goes with their respective lifestyle". This has always stuck in my mind. So every time I look into buying a watch, I make sure it fits my lifestyle and would go with my wardrobe. I play quite a bit of sports (specifically basketball), so most of my watches tend to be sporty. But I also enjoy wearing suits for special nights or occasions, so I had to get myself a nice suit watch.

So I figured that I would blog about some of the watches I own and watches that I would LOVE to get. So first up is my latest acquisition.

VINTAGE 1972 OMEGA SPEEDMASTER PROFESSIONAL MARK II

I got this amazing watch from the man known as "Mr. Omega", Hans from Montreal. He's been repairing Omega watches for over 30 years and is 1 of the North America's top Omega specialists in terms of repairs and servicing. This watch's original owner was an Airplane maintenance mechanic who bought it brand new in 1972.

Hans acquired it from the Original owner and added it to his own personal collection. "In all the years of servicing Omega watches, this is only the 2nd Speedmaster Mark II that was worth adding to his collection. Hans had his first Speedmaster Mark II years before, but regrettably sold it to another client of his.

I still don't know how I managed to convince Hans to sell me this watch from his personal collection. I think a good buddy of mine Paysano had a lot to do with it. Thanks again for helping me get this watch. I owe you, BIG!!!

So I somehow managed to get this watch from Hans. I know he was reluctant to sell it because he was hesitant when handing it over to me. So I had to reassure him that "I would NEVER sell this watch. It will stay in my family and will be passed on from me to my kids."

This model along with the Mark IV are the only models of the Mark Series to consistently have the Professional moniker... I stopped by Off the Hook in Montreal last night to check out the Mavericks event held on the 3rd floor in the Gallery. It was an amazing event that offered the customization of A Nike T-shirt or an AW77 Hooded sweatshirt. You had the choice to embroider on a T-shirt or choose patches for the Hoody. It was pretty simple. You buy your t-shirt or Hoody, then you decide what patches you would like to put on designated spots. I went an all-Black motif and went STEALTH. It was a great turnout with Music by the one and only DJ Psychology and rinks by Red bull and Boris. There was also a space set aside where you can take photos solo or with friends. These will be put up on the Nike Sportwear and Off the Hook websites. Shout out to the Off the Hook crew for a great event and for always bringing kool events like this to Montreal.

1 of my favorite watches offered by Panerai. The Luminor Base is the Original watch that was given to Naval officers by Italian Navy. I own # 091 of 200 Destro (Left Handed) Luminor Base with a Sapphire Crystal back casing that exposes the guts of this workhorse.

Now this is another great example of a watch that I would love to own. It's the 10th Anniversary Watch of the "PANERISTI". An awesome looking watch that screams "rareness" loud and clear. Only 300 are available. You know it will be really difficult to track down. I wonder where it will be available and how much??

ADIDAS SLVR 2010 - FALL/WINTER 2010.

This is a prime example of why I have been a HUGE Adidas fan the last 2-3 years. Adidas has lines that cater to an Older, more mature customer that appreciates well designed clothes and shoes. I'm a big fan of the O by O Originals lines, especially the Kazuki and Beckham (designed by James Bond of UNDFTD) products. Y-3 Adidas is also a great line, with amazing designs by Yohji Yamamoto. That brings us to the SLVR line by Adidas. while VERY limited in distribution, SLVR is an awesome line that uses subtle branding and top-notch quality materials. The cuts are slim, but still not to tight. SLVR is always on the leading edge of fashion and seem to be driven to make Classic pieces that stand the test of time. Not really sure where you can buy SLVR, but I shop @ the SLVR & Y-3 store in the Design district in Miami. Great location that always treats the customers like royalty.

Well here's a few new pieces for the 2010 Fall/Winter collection. Once again, SLVR doesn't disappoint.

So here's a look at 2 brand new STPL X Oakley shades. First up is the "Radar" which looks to have a golf ball dimples on the frames. I'm an avid golfer so I can totally relate to these frames. Pretty cool idea to have that type of texture and feel on the frames. Solid color way on the Radar, kinda reminds me of Lemon (Lens) & Limes (End of the arms and the nose bridge clips). Not sure if these were designed for golf, but they definitely look the part. I actually wear a pair of Oakleys for golf. Here's the 2nd pair of shades that Staple helped design. It's got that Retro 80's looking design that was at the time coined as being "futuristic". Very 80's and Very Retro. 1984 to be exact. I can see Kanye rocking these BIG-TIME. Especially with it's pipe cleaner type frames. They remind me of Sesame street character "Big Bird". Like I said, Very 80's. I'm really liking these Yuketen shoes. I'm not a fan of Boat shoes since I rocked them back in 7th grade of high school. Boat shoes are on everyone's feet. I was in NYC last week and everyone in Soho and LES were rocking them like it wads part of a uniform.

^^^I'm an avid sneakernews reader. I check the site daily. But whoever wrote the above paragraph about this Women's AM1 is way off. I own the Urawa AM1 and it does not look anything like it @ all. Details are way off. The Red is waaaaaaaaaaaaay off. It's too light. The outsole on the OG Urawa is black not gummy. The air bubble on the OG is Green. The OG has a light grey mesh toe-box. The last eyelet on the top of the AM1 on the OG Urawa is Orange not Black. The tongue on the OG is RED felt/nubuck and not pinky mesh. And lastly, the OG Urawa used 2 different shades of RED on the upper.

So please do us a favor and Edit this post cuz it's really not Sneakernews worthy. At least take off the term "UN-UWARA" because it is nothing close to the Original Urawa Dragons Air Max 1. It's more like a NikeID that was inspired by the OG Urawa color way blocking, but the right colors were not available. Sorry to be so critical, but I can't stand it when people coin or name something that has Little resemblance to it's Original inspiration.

This past weekend I was in Indianapolis for the NCAA 2010 Mens Basketball Final Four and Championship game. It was definitely 1 of my most Memorable sporting event trips. As most of you know, I'm a HUGE basketball fan. I travel all over to watch NBA or College games.

The Championship game between Duke and Butler was 1 of the best NCAA finals game in recent memory. I was witness to an Instant classic that will be played on ESPN classics in the near future. I would highly recommend anyone who is a basketball fiend to attend a Final 4. The experience unlike any other. I've been 2 an NBA All-star weekend hosted in Phoenix Suns (which is my favorite team.) and it still can't compare. I want to take the time to Thank my Brothers Lynn and Steve Bussell for inviting me. Houston for the 2011 NCAA Final 4???
